A few days after my mom died, I went on a hike with my dog Quincy. It was spring. The world around me was green and full of birdsong, and I couldn't understand how life could go on when my heart was breaking.
The cycle of nature moves on whether you're ready or not.
Through the worst of the grief, Quincy Bones was by my side. He was a former racing dog, who came to me full of trauma, fear, and pain. Although we had only 22 short months together, he saved my life in so many ways, and his cautious love and his immense growth was a gift.
This song is for Quincy.

This is the first song off my upcoming album Quincy, coming out 3/9/23
lyrics
I look for signs in the mirror
I look for signs on the wind
I couldn’t be any clearer
I get what I want in the end
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, love me
I should set myself in motion
I know better than to try
Put on my shea butter lotion
Settle down to cry
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, love me
Go to the woods, take a moment alone
Get lost, but i forgot my phone
Tell time from the shadows in the grass
This too shall pass
Where will I be when it’s done?
Will I be here when it’s done?
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, let me go
If you love me, love me.
